Who We Are

Introduction

The Rohingya Student Union (RSU) is a youth-led educational and social organization dedicated to empowering Rohingya students through knowledge, leadership, advocacy, and collective action. Founded upon the belief that education is essential to the survival, dignity, and future of the Rohingya people, RSU works to nurture a new generation of informed, skilled, and socially responsible Rohingya youth.

In a time when the Rohingya community continues to face displacement, statelessness, educational exclusion, and cultural erasure, RSU stands as a platform for intellectual growth, unity, and national consciousness. The organization seeks not only to support students academically, but also to preserve Rohingya identity, promote cultural awareness, and encourage youth participation in shaping a just and dignified future for our people.

Through educational initiatives, advocacy campaigns, leadership development, and community engagement, RSU aims to transform the challenges faced by Rohingya youth into opportunities for resilience, empowerment, and long-term institution-building.

Vision

The Rohingya Student Union envisions a future where Rohingya youth are educated, empowered, and united — capable of leading their communities with knowledge, integrity, and responsibility while preserving the identity, language, culture, and collective dignity of the Rohingya nation.

RSU aspires to build a strong generation of students and young leaders who can contribute meaningfully to education, human rights, social development, and the long-term advancement of the Rohingya people on both local and global levels.

Mission

The mission of the Rohingya Student Union is to support and empower Rohingya students through education, leadership development, advocacy, and community engagement. RSU is committed to:

  • Promoting access to education and academic opportunities for Rohingya youth.
  • Encouraging intellectual growth, critical thinking, and student leadership.
  • Preserving and promoting Rohingya language, culture, history, and identity.
  • Raising awareness about the challenges faced by Rohingya students and communities.
  • Building unity, cooperation, and mutual support among Rohingya youth across regions and generations.
  • Creating platforms for advocacy, dialogue, research, and youth participation.
  • Inspiring future leaders dedicated to justice, dignity, and the collective progress of the Rohingya people.

Through these efforts, RSU seeks to strengthen the role of education as a foundation for resilience, empowerment, and national development.
